Ranveer Singh(Bittoo) was born in a Sindhi family on 6th July 1985, his mother name is Anju and father name is Jagjit Singh Bhavnani. He has one sister who is elder to him her name is Ritika Bhavnani. According to report actor removed his surname considering it too long.
He was fascinated toward dancing and acting when he was kid, Bittoo is actors nickname.
Ranveer went Learner Academy for studies after completing his schooling he then went to Indiana University Bloomington for pursuing his graduation. From the very first day he joined school he started participating in acting and dancing competitions. He was very active kid he also participated in number of declamations.
Before making his debut in Bollywood he used to work in advertisement companies like j. Walter Thompson and O&M , after working for some years in advertisment he left his job, he started trying his hand in direction, he worked as assistant director with number of directors, however his dream of becoming actor took him into acting zone from direction. He made his bollywood debut with Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010, in this flick actor eased role of Bittoo Sharma opposite Anushka Sharma, movie managed to become blockbuster hit and made actor star overnight, actor received Film Academy Awards for Star debut of the Year, Apsara Film & Television Producer Guild Award and International Indian Academy Award.
Actor became more successful in 2013 with Lootera and Goliyon Ke Raasleela : Ram Leela. In 2014 he did action drama Gunday, and did comedy drama Dil Dhadakne Do in 2015. In 2015 and 2018 actor received great applause for his outstanding performance in periodic drama Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.
Actor has received number of awards like Dadasaheb Phalke for Best Debut Male Award, Star Screen Award, Stardust Award, Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut.
On work front actor is very active, he always gives his hundred percent which make him versatile actor of Bollywood industry.
Actor is great lover of football and he is diehard fan of Arsenal Football Club which plays for English Premier League, he never miss any match.
