In Mardani (Rani Mukerji) is playing a role of Shivani Shivaji Roy a senior inspector working in crime branch Mumbai. In Mumbai she lives with her husband Dr. Bikram Roy character played by (Jisshu Sengupta) along with her little nice Meera. During her job she come across a case which change her life. As story progress teenage girl, Pyari, who is like a daughter to her, get abducted by the trafficking mafia which is involved in smuggling girls outside the city. During her investigation mafia kingpin Walt calls Shivani and wants to know what she wants, so that she stop chasing him. After contacting Mafia Shivani asks the mafia kingpin Walt character played by (Tahir Bhasin) to let Pyari free, but he is adamant and did not let her free, because Pyari is a prime witness of trafficking.
